Take the next step on your clowning journey! In this follow-up to our beginner's course, you'll dive deeper into the world of clown comedy, building on the skills you’ve developed to discover and refine clown scenes and sketches. Through a mix of play, exploration, and practical exercises, you’ll gain the confidence and tools to take your clowning to the stage.
We’ll revisit key principles like game and audience sensitivity, while introducing new elements such as:
Props and costumes: Turning objects into comedic opportunities.
Character development: Uncovering and refining your clown persona.
Audience interaction: Connecting with your crowd and playing in the moment.
Devising and improvisation: Generating material with others through play and creativity.
This course also includes take-home exercises to help you explore ideas and prepare for an optional end-of-course show. By the end, you’ll feel ready to share your clown with an audience—whether it’s on stage, in future projects, or just for the fun of it.
Perfect for those who’ve completed our beginner’s course or have some clowning experience, this course will help you move from classes to shows.
This course is primarily around group based clowning, however depending on the class there may be opportunities for solo scenes/ sketches.
