In relation to Game, a beat is a moment or instance of the game being played.
It’s a specific comic moment that clearly follows the logic of the game - the thing that’s funny because it's the same (or similar but escalated).
Think of it like:
A single “turn” in the game.
A recognisable replay or heightening of the comic pattern.
A mini punchline in the ongoing joke.
Example:
If the game is “everything you touch turns into jelly”:
You touch a pen and it wobbles - beat one.
You shake someone’s hand and they collapse in a jelly puddle - beat two.
You try to open a door and it slurps off its hinges - beat three.
Each of those is a beat of the game - a repeat and escalation of the same comic idea.
